It's Official: I Am a Blogger

Welcome to my new blog. The purpose of these writings is simply to share my thoughts and to spark discussion about education in general and multilingual education in particular.

The entries will often be about multilingual education, which was the primary focus of my work as a district official and a large priority when I was a campus principal. (See my brief bio at <https://www.kauffmaneducation.com/about>). But they may sometimes be about other topics, such as school and district leadership, curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, outdoor learning, improvement science, instructional rounds, etc. I may also find a way to invite guest bloggers, since there is so much great thinking out there by brilliant educators, students, and family members who don’t currently have a platform.

These writings will rarely be tightly edited and they will never be final drafts. I will cite other authors if referencing their work, but these will rarely, if ever, be formal papers with references and footnotes. Eventually I may get fancier with formatting, pictures, and maybe even video.

Officially, this blog is my intellectual property and all entries are copyrighted, but people are always welcome to quote anything they choose with attribution. As a courtesy, it would be great if you let me know, but that isn’t necessary. Note that the ideas expressed in my blog are not official statements or positions from Kauffman Education, LLC.

If you are reading this, thank you for your time. It means a lot to me to participate in the exchange of ideas with others, especially fellow educators and advocates who are committed to serving marginalized communities through public education. I look forward to comments and connections from readers.
